M81 and M82 in Ursa Major

Exposure Data: 3/18/2001.  LRGB: 17x4m, 3x4m, 3x4m, 3x6m. RGB binned 2x2. -10°C, 2.65 arc-sec./pixel
 
Processing: Acquired, reduced, aligned, combined and RGB combine in Maxim, L+RGB combine, curves, levels, bloom repair and other adjustments in Photoshop.
 
Optical System: 10” Ritchey-Chretien @ F/7, ST-8E NABG/CFW-8A CCD camera, AP900GTO mount.
 
Comments: Despite insufficient exposure, I was pleased to record the supernova. Using Maxim to calibrate on a nearby star, the magnitude was estimated at 13.65.
