CCDAutoPilot
provides automatic session control for an evening's imaging activities.
Version 4 adds a number of new tools, including automatic G2V measurement and camera read noise measurement, new communication abilities, enhanced planning, guiding, focusing and notification features and capabilities. From turning on the system at the start of an evening to shutting down at the end, you can use its intuitive point-and-click interface to set up a single target or multiple targets for data acquisition. In addition to obtaining the light frames, you can obtain sky flats, dark and bias frames and control all the ancillary activities of starting up and closing down your system. Used by many of the leading imagers, CCDAutoPilot provides a repeatable protocol to maximize the quality of the data you obtain on your precious clear nights. And guiding like you have never seen it before is a new feature of version 3. After a one-time initialization, you can go to any point in the sky with any camera rotation and be assured of high performance, algorithm-based guide calibration for your favorite camera control program. Of course, CCDAutoPilot uniquely supports the major camera control programs (CCDSoft and Maxim), telescope control programs (ASCOM and TheSky6), Focusing (FocusMax and CCDSoft/@Focus2), Rotators (RCOS Precision Rotator, Optec Pyxis, Astrodon TAKometer), Domes (ASCOM, Automadome, Digital Dome Works) and even both Boltwood Cloud sensors I and II. This with a single program and interface to collect the data your way! Check out some of the links
